What Is Homeopathy And How Can It Help You?

What Is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy was developed by the great German chemist and doctor, Samuel Hahnemann (1755–1843). The system of homeopathy that he refined and developed is over 200 years old, but the healing principle upon which it is based is universal and goes back thousands of years to the time of Hippocrates – the founder of modern medicine. Homeopathy could be summed up as ‘treat like with like’. In other words, instead of ‘attacking’ or ‘fighting’ disease, homeopathy focuses on building health and strengthening the immune system with individualised, carefully selected remedies.

How Can Homeopathy Help You?

In my experience, homeopathy can be of benefit to clients of all ages with a wide variety of health problems. It can help with many conditions that do not respond well to drugs or that are not well explained by conventional medicine. Homeopathy is a gentle yet powerful system of healing that is safe for everyone, including pregnant and breastfeeding women, babies and children. Homeopathic treatment is especially helpful if you are open to making appropriate changes in your life and are willing to reflect on your health problems – physical, mental and emotional – and where you might be stuck.

Alongside this, homeopathy enables people to live their lives to the full and supports them to deal with the stress and subsequent illnesses of a fast-paced and rapidly changing world.

Who Uses Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is recognised by the World Health Organisation as the second most prevalent therapeutic system in the world. Over 30 million people in Europe use homeopathic remedies and, according to a recent Mintel report into complementary medicines, one in five adults in the UK bought homeopathic or herbal remedies over the counter in the last twelve months.
